Earth Day at the Co-op

Join us at the Kootenay Co-op between 9 am and noon to see a live observation beehive and learn more about how pollinators impact the world we live in with the Bee Awareness Society. Also, come learn how shopping bulk can make a difference.

Eco-Society Parade

Watch or join in on the West Kootenay Eco-Society‘s Earth Day Parade at 2:30 pm starting at the Railtown Visitor’s Centre. This year’s theme is around innovative ways to “Live Green”. Keep an eye out for the Co-op’s “float” or join for the after party at Hall Street plaza at 3:30 pm!

Friends of Kootenay Lake Beach Clean Ups

Friends of Kootenay Lake is celebrating Earth Day with local Beach Clean Ups. The Co-op Staff Social this month is at this event, so say hi to your friendly neighbourhood Co-op employee if you decide to stop by!

Feeling artistically inspired? Enter to win $500 in the Trash to Art competition at the Beach Clean Ups by making an installation out of the beach trash collected!

Support Coast Protectors to Stop Kinder Morgan

Join the movement to Stop Kinder Morgan pipeline with FOR OUR EARTH in their “Support Coast Protectors” event on April 23 at 7 pm at Nelson United Church. Check out the silent auction and try for the $50 gift card donated by the Kootenay Co-op!

Toward Reconciliation at the Ashram

Shop Local at Taghum Hall’s Last Market

Taghum Hall’s last Winter Market for the year is on Saturday, April 21 will offer extended hours (10am-4pm) and both indoor and outdoor vendors in honour of Earth Day. Support local!
