Kitchen Prep Staff
The Food Services department will need up to 15 new kitchen prep clerks and four shift leads. We are looking for people who are interested in working with the highest quality ingredients to serve up delicious, healthy meals. Experience or training in the food service industry is essential, as are knife skills, organization, an eye for cleanliness, and a solid work ethic to keep up with our high-performing team.
Part of the food service expansion includes a café and seating area within the Co-op. We are looking for several new baristas/cashiers to deliver exceptional customer service in this brand new department. If you have café experience, love to be around coffee and pastries, and can work in a fast-paced environment, this may be the job for you!
Cheese and Meat Clerks
The new store will have dedicated meat and cheese departments to offer personalized service and expertise to shoppers. We are looking for individuals with a passion for fine food and a desire to help customers take home the best product for their needs. Experience working in the food/retail industry and a strong understanding of food safety is required, along with outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
The brand new kitchen facility is waiting to be tended to by experienced dishwashing and sanitizing technicians. In addition to having great hours and many employee perks, these positions will help deliver the customer experience the Co-op is known for in a team-focused environment.
The Kootenay Co-op is looking for on-call cashiers to join our team immediately. If you have an open, flexible schedule, enjoy working in a team, and love people, then this job may be for you!
As a cashier you will be providing excellent customer service, solving problems on-the-fly and using basic computer skills to operate the point of sale (POS) system at the till. A friendly attitude and commitment to high-quality service is essential for this front-line position. Working on-call means that you may know some of your shifts in advance but also will be available to come in at short notice to cover absences within the department.
