Turn that colorful bunch of flowers from the market into a spectacular table center! Learn about simple design methods and the tools you might need to put together gorgeous arrangements. We will also talk about extending the life of your flowers and touch on the ethical and ecological consequences of imported flowers. Plus, you can take your beautiful arrangement home!

Lana is a certified organic farmer, a passionate farmer florist and maker of good food. Lana was born and raised in the Kootenays, leaving for university after high school (SHSS) receiving a BSC in geography. Lana spent 20 years as a civil servant working in the NWT and Alberta. In 2014 Lana moved back home and, with her husband Brad, purchased a farm in the Slocan valley. Hummingbird Farm is slowly evolving with extensive flower gardens and now has more then 100 varieties, providing fresh cut bunches twice a week as well as arrangements for weddings and special events. They also grow certified organic food that Lana makes into salsas, salad dressings, etc.

Each class is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
The class is held at the Kootenay Co-op’s new Teaching Kitchen at 777 Baker Street, Nelson, BC.
